Mr. Almo Jamison was born on January 25, 1921 in Central, South Carolina to Mr. Lawrance and Cassie Jamison.  He was the sixth child and fifth son in the family of twelve children.  He grew up in Liberty, South Carolina and attended grammar school in Pickens County, South Carolina.

 Mr. Almo Jamison enlisted in the United States Army as a volunteer on July 12, 1941.  During his four years of active-duty Army service, Mr. Jamison was engaged in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland Battles and Campaigns.  His military decorations and citations included the American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.  Mr. Jamison received a Honorable Discharge from the Army on October 27, 1945.  After his discharge at Fort Dix, he remained in New Jersey and resided there until 2004 when he moved back to South Carolina.

Mr. Jamison was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Jamison and their son, Almo Jamison, Junior; six brothers (Mr. Roy Jamison, Mr. Claude Jamison, Mr. Jeff Jamison, Mr. TJ Jamison, Mr. James Jamison, Mr. Dewitt Jamison, and Mr. Ernest Jamison) and one sister (Mrs. Floree Davis).

He is survived by two sisters (Mrs. Ruby Lomax and Ms. Beulah Jamison, both of Easley, SC); one brother (Mr. Henry Jamison of Easley, SC); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
