Clara Retha Sloan

Daughter of the late Eulater Beatrice Sloan and Billy Washington, she was raised by her grandmother, Jennie B. Sloan after her mother's death at the age of 12.Retha is known by her friends for her talents as a majorette at both Clearview High and Easley Senior High, where she graduated in 1971.  She received her Associate's Degree from Greenville Technical College and both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University.

Survivors include her best friend and companion, Odell Pickens, Jr., of Easley, three  children, Frederick Rickardson, Dawne Richardson, and Tiwana "TJ"  Meggett, six grandchildren , three siblings, Harvest "Butterball" Sloan, Hollace "Bunny"  McDowell, and Beckie Ladson (James); aunt Glenda Sloan, cousins, nieces and nephews.
