James Collis Jackson, Sr.

James Collis Jackson, Sr.,93, entered into eternal rest at Cannon Memorial Hospital on August 8, 2016.  He was son of the late Primus Jackson and Mary Etta Sitton Jackson. and husband of Mollie Jamison Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was well known thru out the upstate as a member of the Jackson Brothers singing group.  He was  the first African American police officer for the city of Liberty.   A member of Fairfield United Methodist Church, he served in many capacities.   He also was a Barber, Cook, Walmart door greeter, school district employee, farmer and etc.

Surviving along with his wife are 5 sons, James Collis Jackson, Jr., Waymond Jackson, Randy Jackson, Bertrand Jackson and Robert Richardson; 2 daughters, Flora Mae Young and Annie Jackson;1 brother, Sylvester Jackson; 4 sisters, Arbutis Davis, Odena Rosemond, Jeanette Williams and Ette Lee; 26 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.   The family has selected The Luther Johnson Funeral Home.
