Tinea Cherry Elevicus Whipple

Tinea L. (McKenzie) Whipple was born in Washington, DC, to the union of Norman Bliss McKenzie and Lucy P. McKenzie.She was the oldest child of three. Her father, mother and sister, Lucy A. McKenzie preceded her in death. 

Tinea was educated in the Pickens County, S.C. school system as well as in Washington, DC. 

In 1972, she married Lucius Whipple and from that union, they had Regina Diane Whipple. 

Tinea was a faithful member of Griffin Ebenezer Baptist Church.  A member of The Missionary Society and the Southern Superiors. Tinea was secretary for the Sunday School for many years as well as a member of The Combine Choir.
She was a person of deep faith, finding strength and comfort in her unwavering belief in God. Tinea trusted in God's plan and on April 16, 2025, she departed and took solace in the assurance of a peaceful transition to her eternal home in Heaven. 
Tinea (Cherry) leaves her loving daughter Regina Whipple, Brother (Norman/Sandra) McKenzie, Niece (Michelle McKenzie),  nephew (Michael McKenzie), 2 great nephews (Marquis and Michael McKenzie Jr.). A dear loving friend (Geneva Robinson) and a host of friends. She will be solely missed by all.
