- About Us
My deepest condolences to you and it was so interesting to hear your unusual situation. 1997 was the year I discovered how incredibly important your profession is. My grandmother had suffered her second and third stroke. As I went in to the hospital room to say goodbye, she looked like what I could only describe is a sick little frail bird. She was only 60 lbs and looked absolutely dreadful. I just knew we needed to have a closed casket funeral because she looked nothing like herself at her deathThe day after making arrangements, we went to your funeral home to view her body. I was shocked! My beautiful grandmother laid there and looked as if she was in her health and only sleeping. She looked so healthy and peaceful. I couldn’t understand how you could make her look so good after seeing her on her death bed.. Even her makeup was flawless and not paste looking or overdone to compensate. She literally looked like she looked when she was in her health and just laid down to take a nap....a peaceful nap. That was so healing for me and I was so grateful to be able to see her that way one last time. I to thank the embalmer, plus hair and makeup artist! Thank you to you and those in your profession. What an incredible contribution you make to the healing process of grief. Thank you for also sharing your personal experience with us.
Congrats on your eighty something years of dedicated service to your community. That really says a lot to your committment at helping people.

Thank you the The Luther Johnson Funeral Home and staff for all your professional service at our greatest time of need.
From The Entire Heard Family.
This firm is highly recommended as one who raises the bar and is not just your usual average funeral home. The way they prepare and handle your loved one is unmatched, And the little things they do means so much, such as memorial fans, candles, bookmarks and the final symbolic flock of doves they release at the cemetery complementary from the funeral home is un heard of.
I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU AND YOUR STAFF FOR YOUR SERVICE DURING THE LOST OF MY BROTHER.
We thought only God performed miracles, but Luther Johnson caused a miracle to happen where our loved one was concerned. Because of him, my children and grandchildren were able to view his body and see the father and grandfather they loved. Thank you for obviously caring about each person you work your miracles on. I'll always be grateful to you for making this happen.
Thank you for the kindness you extended to me and my family with everything regarding my Grandmothers service. Your attention to details did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. Thanks to you, my Grandmothers service was lovely.
Thank you so much for your caring services you and your staff provided to my family and myself. As always everyone was so thoughtful and made a very difficult and sad time in our lives very bearable. You handled the services for my Mom and Dad and now my brother. You were so thoughtful and understanding and had the answers to our requests and everything was so perfect.
My wife and I have known Mr. Luther Johnson Jr. as well as Mr. Luther Johnson III (as a very young man) for many of years while working with the two at S.C. Franks Funeral Home in Greenville and Liberty, S.C. back in the early 1970. He serve as one of the Usher in our Wedding in 1975 in Greenville and has always been a true Friend through the years. Luther III has always had a fond interest in Serving his Community through The Funeral Business. I have seen this young Professional Man turn into a well respect Funeral Director and Embalmer. May God continue to Bless him and his Business for we have been Bless by God who has put him in Our Lives. What a Talented, Caring, Loving and Capable Funeral Director & Embalmer, Liberty and surrounding Towns of South Carolina has in being served by Mr. Luther Johnson III. A man of Trust & Honesty.

Beautifully done, tasteful website. But where is my beautiful, hard-working friend's Sippie Johnson's photo. Would love to see her up here, too. Just a suggestion. Thank you. Hope to meet you, too, someday soon.
We are so more than completely satisfied that each time we have faced a loss in our family both local and twice at a distance away, one phone call was all it took and they were very professional at handling everything. One of our family members died at a residence 125 miles from their location and to our amazement, a hearse backed up to the residence in about 20 minutes to pick up the body. Our loved ones who had been sick for some time and loss weight, they made them look like they did 5 years before they got sick. This firm is highly reccommended by our family.
Wonderful staff! They serve everyone with dignity & pride.
We are always interested in hearing from the families that we serve. Please take a moment to let us know how well we served you in your time of need. We very much appreciate your feedback.
